City Receives Quality of Life Award for Five Mile Hill and Bicentennial Park Improvements

The City of Grand Haven was recently awarded the Project of the Year Award from the Midwest Branch, Michigan Chapter of the American Public Works Association at their annual membership meeting for Quality-of-Life improvements associated with Bicentennial Park retaining wall replacement and the Five Mile Hill Overlook Reconstruction. The award demonstrates the City’s commitment to improve and sustain the community’s quality of life for our residents and visitors alike. The City Council approved the capital improvements in the 2024/25 fiscal year, digging into the City’s fund balance to accomplish the improvements.

2025 Blanket Policy

Blanket Policy: The City of Grand Haven invites the public to place sheets, caution tape, golf tees and chairs on all public property to reserve space for the parade and fireworks, after 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025. Materials placed before 12:01 a.m. will be removed by City crews.

Friday, August 1, 2025 is strictly prohibited.

      Walk the Beat: A Music Crawl to Beat the Winter Blues 🎶❄️

      Shake off the winter blues with Walk the Beat, a free, walkable music event featuring live performances across the East End! Hop between local businesses, discover new bands, and enjoy a night of music and community.

      Admission is free (donations welcome), and getting around is easy—Harbor Transit will provide a free trolley service on the East End from 6–10 PM, courtesy of the City of Grand Haven.

Bet On Inclusion starts at 6:30pm, March 7th at the Grand Haven Eagles. Game play will happen 7-9pm, with the raffles happening right after and dancing going until 10pm. Live jazz music and specialty 20's themed drinks will make you think it's 1925.

      Tickets start at $50 and include game play chips, raffle tickets, appetizers, and a drink.
